State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA)

The Emergency Management Training (EMT) curriculum delivered by SEMA offers an extensive array of training opportunities for State and local emergency managers, public officials, members of volunteer relief organizations, and professionals in related fields. The EMT program has proven itself to be a comprehensive and effective vehicle to train state and local officials in disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. Jurisdictions across Missouri, can and do cope with disaster by preparing in advance through training activities and by using the skills learned to build local teams and coalitions that respond to emergencies.

Missouri Office of Homeland Security (OHS)

The Missouri Office of Homeland Security (OHS) serves the State’s emergency responder community by offering training to build critical skills that responders need to function effectively in mass consequence events. OHS primarily serves state and local entities, but has expanded to serve private sector and citizens in recognition of their significant role in domestic preparedness. Students attend OHS sponsored courses to learn how to apply the basic skills of their profession in the context of preparing, preventing, deterring, responding to and recovering from acts of terrorism and catastrophic events. Course subjects range from weapons of mass destruction (WMD) terrorism, cybersecurity, and agro-terrorism to citizen preparedness and public works.
