Description:Reduction of loss of life and destruction of property is the basic tenant of the NFIP Program. As part of the FEMA Risk MAP (Mapping, Assessment and Planning) initiative, the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) in partnership with FEMA will be conducting workshops for stakeholders entitled “‘Show-Me’ How to Use a DFIRM Database, RiskMAP Products, and Advance Mitigation Actions Workshop.” The workshop is designed to demonstrate to attendees the use of regulatory FEMA products in their local community. We will discuss how communities can utilize the products to identify, assess and reduce their flood risk through mitigation actions. If you have a laptop with ArcGIS capabilities, feel free to bring it for on-site experience with the data. We expect the workshop to last approximately four hours in total. A box lunch will be provided.
