Description:The purpose of this course is to enable participants and their local National Weather Service (NWS) Warning Coordination Meteorologist (WCM) to work together to create a new spotter group in the community or to improve the operations of an existing spotter group for the benefit of the local community. Participants will develop and take back with them specific ideas for strengthening the partnership between emergency management and the local WCM to improve the integrated warning process in the community. Prerequisites: While not required, participants are advised to complete the online NWS SKYWARN training available from MetEd (https://www.meted.ucar.edu/training_course.php?id=23) before attending the workshop.
